A man passed away and four others were injured Monday, August 7th after a truck crashed into a home, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. The accident involved two pickup trucks at the intersection of Church Road and Warren Mill Road.
The initial investigation found a 26-year-old woman was traveling east on Warren Mill Road. Eddie Swindell, 75, was driving south on Church Road.
The woman failed to yield while crossing the road and pulled into Swindell’s path. The Highway Patrol said after impact, the truck driven by Swindell ran off the road, overturned, and stopped in a yard. Swindell died due to his injuries.
The four injured people were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
The investigation of this crash is ongoing.
