Officials responded to an accident involving two tractor-trailers in Anderson County Sunday morning. The crash happened around 2 a.m. on August 6th. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Anderson County coroner has identified the two victims who have passed away as 47-year-old Tracina Yvette Young of Greenville and 51-year-old Frederick Leorande Styles of Woodruff. The accident happened on Interstate 85, north of Liberty Highway, roughly two miles from Exit 21.

The driver Young and the passenger Styles hit the rear of another tractor-trailer that was experiencing mechanical issues. Both of them were thrown from the vehicle and they died at the scene. The accident involved several other vehicles.

The investigation is ongoing.
