An accident in north Charlotte sent three people to the hospital Monday morning, August 14th. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes of I-85 near Statesville Avenue. Crews were working on paving the road at the time, making it difficult for first responders to get to the crash. The crash had traffic at a standstill.

There were at least two vehicles involved in the crash. A white pick-up truck that appears to have been part of the construction crew, was rear-ended, and a black SUV had heavy damage to the front end. 

one person had life-threatening injuries and two others were seriously hurt.
