A bicyclist was hit head-on and killed over the weekend in a hit-and-run crash. The incident happened just after 1 p.m. Sunday, September 3rd near the 2200 block of Hendersonville Road.
The cyclist was traveling south on Hendersonville Road in the turn lane when a blue sedan traveling north attempted to pass another vehicle by using the turn lane. The vehicle hit the cyclist head-on and then drove away from the scene before officers arrived.
The cyclist was taken by ambulance to Mission Hospital and later died. The cyclist has been identified as Patrick Jeffery Leroy, 34. The vehicle and driver were located later Sunday night. Charges in the accident are pending.
