The Brevard Police Department said officers are investigating a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian last week. the incident occurred near a Tidal Wave Car Wash along Asheville Highway at approximately 9:34 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3.
The pedestrian was walking south on Asheville Highway in front of the Tidal Wave Car Wash when he was struck by an SUV that failed to stop, leaving the pedestrian severely injured. The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Roy Waters of Brevard. Waters was taken to the hospital for treatment. However, he later passed away due to his injuries on Friday, October 6.
Officers are still looking for the driver. The vehicle has been described as an SUV dark silver-colored Dodge Durang from 2011 or 2012. They added that it may have damage on the front end or the passenger side.
