On Monday, August 14th a fatal hit-and-run crash killed a woman. The incident occurred on West Central Avenue around 6:30 a.m., closing down the road during the Monday morning commute.
The driver in the crash has been identified as 23-year-old Hishon Jaquise Redfearn. The victim, previously identified by police as Amanda Frisbee, 42, of Mount Holly, was walking on Central Avenue when she was struck.
On Thursday, the police department announced an arrest was made during the investigation. Investigators arrested 23-year-old Hishon Jaquise Redfearn of Charlotte in the morning, charging him with felonious hit and run. He is now being held in the Gaston County Jail under a $750,000 bond.
Investigators said Redfearn’s vehicle was located and secured for processing later that day.
