At approximately 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 9 the Greensboro Police were called to an accident scene on Old Oak Ridge Road.52-year-old Russell Paul Thompson, from Greensboro, was traveling in a Ford Explorer headed southbound when he struck a 15-year-old girl who police believe entered the roadway by skateboard.

She suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
