Four people passed away and another got injured when their vehicle ran off Riverland Road and struck a tree early Saturday morning. A 2010 Cadillac SUV was driving south on Riverland Drive near George Griffith Blvd. The collision occurred at roughly 1:23 a.m.
Five people were in the vehicle at the time. Four were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected in the crash. The driver was also unrestrained but remained inside the vehicle, and was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina for treatment of serious injuries.
The four victims have been identified as 29-year-old Earl Hamilton Jr., 27-year-old James Hamilton, 26-year-old Mitchell Watson, and 29-year-old Tyler Barron.
This incident is still under investigation.
