A 17-year-old boy was killed in a crash on Wednesday afternoon January 17 in southeast Charlotte. The collision occurred at approximately 5 p.m. in the 11200 block of E. W.T. Harris Boulevard. When officers arrived at the scene of the wreck they found a 1999 Ford Escort with extensive damage and a 2010 Infinity G37 and 2012 BMW 335i a short distance away.
The initial investigation shows that the Infiniti was traveling on E. W.T. Harris Boulevard when it struck the BMW. The impact of that collision caused the BMW to hit the Ford, which then lost control and struck a tree.
The 17-year-old driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. The juvenile was identified as a senior at North Meck High School, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools confirmed.
