A man was killed on Sunday, October 8th after a collision between a pickup truck and motorcycle on Highway 101 in Carteret County. Just before noon on Sunday, David Hooker was driving west on Highway 101 when he was struck by a truck.
Golden was turning left on the highway from Laurel Road when he struck Hooker. 50-year-old David Hooker passed away at the scene. Troopers have charged 49-year-old Matthew Golden, of Newport, with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield.
Several people at the scene rushed to assist the man, but it was too late.
