A woman from Hendersonville was hit by a vehicle and killed on the night of September 26th while she was crossing U.S. 64 East. The crash occurred on U.S. 64 near Woodside View Drive. She was attempting to cross the roadway and it was quite dark out. The crash occurred around 8 p.m.
72-year-old Doris Ponder, of Hendersonville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Henderson County EMS, along with the Hendersonville Police Department, also responded to the call, Scerri said. The incident happened close to the Citgo on U.S. 64, which is less than a mile from North Henderson High School.
