One person passed away and another was injured on Thursday night November 16 after a car struck a pedestrian in Richland County. At approximately 9 p.m., a 2002 Chevrolet SUV was traveling north on Fairfield Road, about six miles north of Columbia.
The SUV hit a pedestrian in the roadway, and then swerved off the road and hit two parked vehicles. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Details of the deceased have not yet been publicly released. The driver of the SUV was injured in the accident and was transported to a local hospital by EMS.
