A Raleigh intersection was shut down after a crash involving several vehicles on Thursday afternoon November 9. The crash occurred at the intersection of Spring Forest and Green Roads.
38-year-old Rodney Lee was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse eastbound on Spring Forest Road at roughly 2:48 p.m. A woman was in the front passenger seat and three juveniles were in the back seats. Simultaneously 67-year-old Mary Garris was driving a 2005 Ford Focus with 66-year-old Mark Garris in the front passenger seat when she turned left onto Green Road.
The initial investigation indicates that Lee ran a red light and hit Garris’ car. Both Mary and Mark Garris were taken to the hospital. Mark passed away due to his injuries from the crash.
Lee was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to stop at a steady red light.
At The Law Offices of Jason E. Taylor, our hearts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and loved ones of Mark who suffered this tragic loss of life. We also extend our prayers to Mary who is facing life-threatening injuries and wish her a healthy recovery. We share our condolences for this devastating car accident.
