One person passed away on Monday, December 11 in a collision on a Midlands road that left two others hospitalized. The two-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. Monday in Fairfield County.
A 1996 Dodge pickup truck was traveling north on S.C. 213, and at an intersection, it hit a 2010 Ford transit van that was driving west on Jenkinsville Road. The Ford went through a stop sign at the intersection and was hit on the driver’s side by the Dodge, Hill said. The driver of the Ford, 23-year-old Bryson Burgess, and a passenger in the van were taken to a hospital in Richland County. Burgess passed away at the hospital. The Ford passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The Dodge driver was also taken to a hospital. There was no word on the Dodge driver’s condition. No other injuries were reported. There was no word if any people involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.
