A woman was killed on Thursday night December 28 in a crash in downtown Raleigh. The incident occurred at roughly 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Blount Street and East Cabarrus Street. A car and a pickup truck were both involved. The white truck flipped over on its roof.
All three people involved in the crash were transported to the hospital. Of the two people injured, one was in serious condition and the other was stable. The woman who passed away is yet to be identified.
It is unclear what exactly caused the crash. The accident is still under investigation, but police said they expect to file charges. Two power poles were also damaged, and officials said one pole was snapped in half. Duke Energy trucks were on the scene cleaning up more than six hours after the crash.
