A young girl passed away Saturday afternoon on September 30th after a car hit a tree near Darlington. 16-year-old Taylor Madison Britt died when the car she was driving hit a tree along South Charleston Road on Saturday afternoon.

The 2015 Mercedes Benz GLK350 Britt was driving was traveling north on South Charleston Road when it ran off the road, lost control, and then traveled back left of center before overturning and hitting a tree. Britt was pronounced dead at the scene while two passengers in the car were injured and taken to the hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident.
