Early Afternoon on Monday, October 23 a fatal crash involving a pedestrian occurred in Orangeburg County. The accident happened at approximately 11:37 a.m. on U.S. 301 near Webber Farm Road.

a 2019 Chevrolet pickup was driving north on U.S. 301 when it hit a pedestrian who was standing on the side of the road. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup sustained injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital to be treated.

The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim.
