One person was killed and another was hurt following a crash in Florence County. The single-vehicle collision occurred on Friday at approximately 7:15 p.m. A 2011 Nissan sedan was traveling south on North Old Georgetown Road, and near the intersection with Kirk Road, the car ran off the right side of the road.
The car crashed into a tree, and the front-seat passenger died. The Florence County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the passenger. The driver sustained injuries and was taken to an area hospital. Further information on the driver’s condition is not available. There was no word if either the driver or passenger were wearing seat belts.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
