Two people passed away in a crash that occurred on Saturday, November 18 between a motorcycle and another vehicle. It happened at the intersection of Village Road and South Navassa Road at roughly 9 p.m. Both people on the motorcycle, 39-year-old Jerrad Isaiah Cornish, of Leland, and 38-year-old Christina Nicole Jenkins, of Wilmington, were dead when officers arrived. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
The initial investigation shows the motorcycle was driving northwest on Village Road toward South Navassa Road when it crashed with the passenger vehicle as it pulled out of a parking lot near the intersection.
At this time, no charges have been filed. The crash remains under investigation.
