A man from Lenoir passed away in a motorcycle accident on Monday afternoon, December 4. The fatal collision occurred in Alexander County on NC 16 at Shade Tree Road. A 2016 Chevrolet Express van was driving south on NC 16 and attempted to turn left onto Shade Tree Road. The van turned in front of a 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was headed northbound.
The collision caused 48-year-old Christopher Chad Goans to be ejected from the motorcycle. Goans was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van 62-year-old David Robert Brady, didn’t sustain any injuries from the crash. Brady is facing charges of misdemeanor death by vehicle and failure to yield the right of way.
