A deadly crash involving three vehicles occurred on Sunday, October 29 in Abbeville County. The crash happened on S.C. Highway 81 at roughly 12:33 p.m., about 5.5 miles north of Calhoun Falls, S.C.A 2013 Nissan Sedan was driving south on S.C. Highway 81 when it crossed the center of the road and hit a boat trailer being pulled by a 2013 Ford pickup truck. After that initial collision, the Nissan continued to drive and struck a 2022 Ram pickup truck head-on.
The driver of the Nissan, a 16-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office said a flight transported a 15-year-old passenger of the Nissan to Prisma GHS Trauma Center, where they later passed away. The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the coroner. The names of the two juveniles are not being released due to their age.
The driver of the Ford was not injured, but the driver of the Ram was injured and taken to the hospital.
