One person passed away on Monday evening November 20 in a collision on Interstate 85 in Greer. The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened at roughly 10 p.m. near mile marker 57.

A tractor-trailer was driving north when it stopped on the interstate. The vehicle was then struck by a Ford Fusion from the rear. The driver of the Ford Fusion, identified as  35-year-old Alexander Mejia Romero was transported to the hospital where they later passed away due to their injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
