One person was killed in a head-on collision on Monday at approximately 5:15 a.m. in Robeson County. The crash occurred on Highway 71 near Malloy Road between Parkton and Lumber Bridge in Robeson County.
One vehicle crossed the center line and crashed into another vehicle, killing the driver of that car. The victim has been identified as 55 or 56-year-old Marvin Orlando Dice Jr., of Red Springs. The driver of the person who caused the incident left the scene on foot before troopers could get there. Witnesses said both cars were badly damaged and they can’t imagine that the driver, who fled the scene, wasn’t injured.
They have a person of interest in the crash and will release more information as it becomes available.
