A mother and four-year-old child passed away after a head-on collision in Moore County. The accident happened on N.C. Highway 690 at Lobelia Road and Morrison Bridge Road. Crews responded to the scene at roughly 9 p.m. Wednesday night, September 20th in the Town of Vass.
The highway patrol says a driver crossed the center line on Highway 690 and hit another vehicle. Authorities said the child was not properly restrained and the car seat was not properly secured to the car. The mother was taken to the hospital but later died due to her injuries. The other driver in the second car was also airlifted from the scene. A teenage passenger in the second car suffered minor injuries.
