A woman died in a two-vehicle crash in the Summerville area. 70-year-old Joycelyn J. Parker of Summerville was a passenger in a vehicle that collided head-on with another vehicle on Orangeburg Road. The coroner said Parker was a rear-seat passenger, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision happened at roughly 6:34 p.m. on Orangeburg Road in Dorchester County, just over 4 miles west of Summerville. A 2018 Honda CRV, which held three occupants including Parker, was heading east when it collided with a 2010 Lincoln MKC. The two other people in the Honda and the driver of the Lincoln, the sole occupant, were all taken to Trident Medical Center for treatment.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
