One person passed away after a crash on Thursday morning January 5 in Raleigh. At approximately 2:45 a.m. the driver of a 2022 Honda Pilot was heading northbound on Hammond Road, approaching the I-40 underpass.
A pedestrian was sitting in the far-left lane facing eastbound on Hammond Road. The driver, identified as 79-year-old Buddy Lee Fuller, failed to reduce speed and hit the pedestrian. The pedestrian passed away from their injuries. Fuller was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
The crash remains under investigation.
