A four-car crash happened on I-85 that killed three people on Sunday morning. The incident happened at roughly 5:18 a.m. on I-85 Southbound near mile marker 51. A vehicle was heading northbound in the southbound lane and collided with another vehicle which resulted in two other vehicles being involved.
Officials identified the three victims as 69-year-old Jimmie McKenley Wallace of Alabama, 27-year-old Storm Mikayla Shepard from Duncan, and 45-year-old Sharae Deneen Green of Georgia. Other victims were involved and sustained non-serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
The coroner’s office also says two dogs and a snake were lost. Officials said two dogs were traveling with Green and family at the time of the crash and were no longer on the scene when first responders arrived.
According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation, as of 10:55 a.m., all lanes were reopened.
